About

This the magical place where I've had the privilege of practicing the qigong form extracted from som

How it all began

When I moved to Boulder from Chicago back in 1998 My business partner and I had just sold our natural foods market to Whole foods Market.  I had a lot of time on my hands and was faced with the question, "What's next?"  I took inventory of what I most loved to do and I kept coming up with yoga, shiatsu and massage.  I felt very fortunate when I realized I lived only a short drive to one of the most highly regarded massage schools in the country. I attended the  Boulder College of Massage Therapy in 2000, graduated with honors and launched my practice in 2001.

Qigong (chee-gung)

Qigong is the art and science of cultivating and enhancing our life-force  energy by means of breath, intention, movement, meditation, massage, and proper meal preparation. It is nothing short of mystic alchemy.  I discovered it back in 2004 through Chunyi Lynn who is the founder of Spring Forest Qigong. Since then I've studied with several teachers and now practice a fusion consisting of movements I learned in yoga and qigong. I call my form qi-yoga-flow.

HeartMind Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a bodywork practice developed in Japan over centuries. It uses thumbs, palms, elbows and knees along the energetic pathways of the body along with stretches and pressing individual acupressure points.  In the HeartMind style, we use meditation practices to create coherence between the mind and the heart, thus  HeartMind, or in Chinese Xin (shin)

Integrative Massage

My style of massage is called integrative because I find it hard to classify. I've studied and received so many varieties, styles and modalities that it's hard for me to label what I do. I really enjoy receiving massage as much as I can. I'd like to acknowledge the teachers who taught me what I know so others may look them up to discover their talents as well. A big shout out to my teachers at Boulder College of Massage, to  Leslie Bruder, the founder of Phenomenal Touch, to Matthew Sweigart who is a true master practitioner and founder of HeartMind Bodywork, to Sunny Klaber and the Bali teachers, Jen Hilman and Cole Chance where I studied Thai Yoga Massage and to my qigong teachers, Chunyi Lin, Dr. Roger Jahnke, Jim MacRitchie, Lee Jung Feng, and I don't want to forget Prem Rawat who taught me the techniques of Self Knowledge, that beautiful gift that allows me to discover my fountain of Bliss within.
